Welcome to Kithe! We are currently on hiatus, but are excited to read and see your work when we come back in July of 2023. 

We accept simultaneous submissions, but please let us know as soon as possible if your work has been selected to appear elsewhere. We encourage you to read about our Selection and Editing Process before you submit as we will, in some cases, encourage developmental editing. 

Word Count and Page Restrictions

• Prose: No more than 4,000 words
• Poetry: No more than 3 pages total (multiple pieces per submission is fine)
• Visual Art: 3 pieces per submission, unless in a series with less than 5 images
• Graphic Narratives: No more than 5 pages total

Formatting Instructions

• Prose: 12 pt. font, double-spaced, in a paginated .docx or .pdf
• Poetry: Open typography, preferred submission in .pdf to maintain formatting
• Visual Art: Submit photos as .jpegs, resolution should be no less than 300 ppi
• Graphic Narratives: Submit as a .jpeg, resolution should be no less than 300 ppi

Honorariums

Kithe values your work and the time it takes to share it with us, which is why we offer honorariums for every piece published with us. We pay honorariums upon publication. 

Currently, our rates are as follows: 

• Prose: $75.00
• Poetry: $50.00
• Visual Art: $50.00
• Graphic Narratives: $75.00
